Sustainability

Resorts World

Here at Resorts World Birmingham, sustainability is at the forefront of our minds, we are continuing to make changes and develop new initiatives to reach our sustainable goals. Whether we are looking at energy, waste or transport, we want to reduce our impact on the environment.

Sustainable development is a vital component to the future prosperity of our business and for the wider environment.

We recognise the opportunity that we have to create and implement positive environmental and social impacts. We are very aware of our responsibility and the risks associated of not taking these issues seriously.

We are committed to regular review and development of our policies and practices. We are committed to regular communication with our staff, tenants, neighbors and supply partners to ensure we maximize best practice and that we constantly strive to achieve our sustainability targets.

Like all businesses this is a work in progress but we would like to share with you some of the range of sustainable practices we implement across Resorts World.

We will update as we bring on further developments.

What we are doing right now!

  • Recycle- Our waste is separated prior to collection to ensure we recycle as much as possible.

  • Hazardous Waste- Separated from general waste and is collected separately to ensure harmful substances are not entered in to the waste chain

Water

  • Washroom Upgrade- Our washrooms operate in low flush and sensor settings.
  • Water Quality- All restaurants have a grease trap to prevent cooking oils etc entering the drainage system.

Chemicals

  • Cleaning Products- All cleaning products are eco friendly and sourced from a single supplier.
  • Pesticides / Insecticides / Herbicides- Pest control checks are in place for routine inspection.

Biodiversity

  • Planting & Maintenance for Biodiversity- We have planting all along the lakeside and have a green roof on level 3 of the building.
